Delicious Restaurants in Pensacola
Hey there, fellow foodies and adventure-seekers! Buckle up because I’m about to take you on a tantalizing tour of two restaurants that totally rocked our taste buds.
Stop #1: Crabs On the Beach – A Seafood Fiesta!
So, we stumbled upon Crabs On the Beach during our stroll from the hotel. And, oh boy, was it a catch! Marching in as a party of eight without reservations (yeah, we’re that daring), we barely waited before diving into the deep end of deliciousness.
Let’s chat about the appetizers we had – they were truly a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. First up, we tried the crispy fried calamari – a classic appetizer that is always a crowd-pleaser. But the real standout dish was the crab nachos. Just imagine a towering mountain of crispy tortilla chips, generously topped with succulent crab meat, melted cheese, and a medley of fresh veggies. The combination of flavors and textures in every bite was simply divine – it was almost too much to handle (but of course, we managed to finish it all!).
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the entrees. We were presented with a seafood platter that boasted an impressive variety of fresh catches, leaving my husband beaming from ear to ear. The chicken Alfredo was a hit with the kids who were so enamored with the creamy sauce that they almost licked their plates clean. My brother opted for naked fish, which was simple yet delicious. Dad savored the juicy shrimp tacos while Mom relished the perfectly grilled red snapper. As for me, I went all in with the shrimp boil, and it did not disappoint. To our delight, everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
But wait, the cherry on top? Dad’s birthday surprise! Picture a troop of servers serenading him and then presenting him with the grand finale – ice cream! Talk about a sweet ending.

Stop #2: Ruby-Gin Filipino Restaurant – A Flavorful Fiesta
Fast forward to the next day, and we’re at Ruby-Gin Filipino Restaurant, celebrating Dad’s birthday (again, because why not?). We dove into family-style dining with a feast that would make any foodie weep with joy.
The birthday celebration was truly remarkable, with a mouth-watering selection of dishes to please everyone’s taste buds.
The first one on the menu was the classic pancit guisado, a customary birthday dish that was cooked to perfection. The aroma of the noodles and vegetables mingled with the spices and seasonings, making everyone’s mouth water.
The lumpia, a famous Filipino appetizer, was crispy and golden, filled with a savory mixture of veggies and meat.
The kare-kare, a peanut-based stew with tender beef and vegetables, was a hit among the guests.
The pinakbet, a vegetable dish cooked with shrimp paste, was flavorful and aromatic. The sisig, made with crispy pork belly, was spicy and delicious.
And the Lechon kawali, a crispy pork belly dish, was the star of the show, with its crunchy skin and succulent meat.
For dessert, there was the traditional halo-halo, a refreshing dessert made with shaved ice, evaporated milk, and various sweet toppings.
And finally, there was turon with jackfruit, a crispy fried banana roll filled with ripe jackfruit, that was sadly left unphotographed.
My first experience trying sisig left me absolutely obsessed. As soon as the flavors hit my taste buds, I knew I had discovered something truly special. The combination of savory meat, tangy citrus, and a touch of spice was a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more. As we left the restaurants, our stomachs were full, but our hearts were even fuller. The memories we created while enjoying those mouth-watering dishes will certainly stay with us for a long time.
